Izakaya Oni – a japenese tavern in Coimbra

You really have to try the best ramen in Coimbra.

Izakaya Oni is a japanese tavern, secretely tucked away in “Largo do Romal” in Baixa, to which Coimbra fell in love with.

The space, an old tavern, has just over 20 seats, including the counter and the terrace. Japanese culture is well represented in figures such as the Oni, a “playful demon” armed with sake and associated to the confraternization; and the Manekineko, the waving cat associated with prosperity.

It’s in a cozy atmosphere that customers will be invited for a true gastronomic trip to Japan. The idea is to relax and share some snacks, with friends or family, after a day of work.

What we suggest? ALL! And everything will make you want to come back: the oysters, the tori karaague (fried chicken), the delicious katsu sando (sandwich made with bread on the grill with breaded loin), the best Ramen in Coimbra, among many other dishes to discover. To drink? Artisan Beer (some from Japan), Saké, Wine, Coktail or Gin… options abound!

This small but unforgettable Japanese Tavern should be part of your gastronomic itinerary in Coimbra.

Opening hours: Wednesday, 19:30 to 23:00; from Thursday to Monday, 12:30 to 15:00 and 19:30 to 23:00.
