Ruins of Conímbriga
Conímbriga, placed just in 16 km km from Coimbra, in parish of Condeixa-a-Velha, is classified as Nacional Monument and it´s kown as the best national aqueologic station .To get to know better the history of our country, Conimbriga is the best place since in the past, it was one of the biggest roman villages of Portugal. In this old roman village, you can visit the Monografic Museum, built in 1962, where you will find the preserved historic remains found during the digs, which had began in 1898 and in a continue way. These arqueologic remains tell the history of that old civilization, between the end of the second millennium before Christ and the century VI of the Christian era. Besides the Museum, you can get lost in the ruins of Conimbriga, where you can find trace elements of a rich city, such as “public baths, luxurious houses, amphitheater, forum, stores, gardens with fountains which still works and walls to explore.” Use your visit to Coimbra to do a time travel and get lost in this wonderful roman civilization.

Tickets:
One ticket costs 4,5 Euros and includes both the museum and the ruins.
Getting to Conimbringa:
Located only 16 kilometers away from Coimbra, in the town of Condeixa-a-Nova, you can reach Conímbriga by car or by bus.
The bus stop is located only a few meters away from Hotel Oslo Coimbra, but if you are using this transportation, please reach us the day before and we will help you with tips and timetables.
You will still need to take a taxi from Conimbriga to the ruins from Condeixa-a-Nova.
