There are several beautiful river beaches along the course of the River Mondego. One of them is the famous “Praia Fluvial de Palheiros and Zorro“, also known as the “Praia Fluvial de Torres do Mondego“, is located in the parish of Torres de Mondego, on the left bank of Rio, 15 km from Coimbra.

The Palheiros and Zorro Fluvial Beach, with a extensive sand, also offers various activities such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing and beach volleyball. On a visit to this Fluvial Beach, with the banks are connected by a recently opened bridge, it is possible to cross paths with an otter or a fishing eagle, which are frequent visitors there.
