Lucky Panther Parlor – Tattoo & Piercing in “Praça do Comércio”

Lucky Panther Parlor – Tattoo & Piercing opened its doors in November 2023, in “Praça do Comércio”.

Bráulio, the owner of the Studio, was born in Coimbra and lived part of his childhood in “Baixa de Coimbra”. In the 90s and just with 20 years old, Bráulio knew he wanted to be a Tattoo Artist but he also knew that in Coimbra he wouldn’t have many job opportunities. Hoping to find them, he moved to Lisbon and it was there that he met someone who encouraged him to fly higher, to go to Paris to work and learn from one of the Best French Tattoo Artists at the time. It was in the French capital that he found the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of all the work involved in a Tattoo Studio: he started by working on small things that included maintaining the studio, tuning the machines, preparing the bench and the designs.

Nine months after this experience, Bráulio returned to Portugal and, shortly afterwards, the invitation arrived to settle permanently in a Studio, in “Bairro Alto”, in Lisbon. He accepted and stayed there for almost twenty years, with some periods in between, spent in several European countries.

At the beginning of 2023, he returned to Coimbra, on a weekend, with his girlfriend Mafalda, when they fell in love with a house and Bráulio quickly realized that he wanted to return to his hometown. With his return to Coimbra, his first studio was born: Lucky Panther Parlor – Tattoo & Piercing. A large, young and modern space, with a friendly living room, an open space tattoo area, a piercing room and an exclusive sterilization area. Bráulio combines the modern with the traditional and prefers to work with traditional coil machines, despite them being heavier than disposable machines.

More than twenty years later, Bráulio thanks all his friends who “offered their bodies to art” and who today refuse to touch up his first tattoos. But, as Bráulia himself says, “tattoos are something much deeper than just a design on the skin and it was this romantic part that made me fall in love with this world”.

Bráulio e Mafalda, responsible for bureaucratic issues, was joined Bruno, a tatto artist with 16 years of experience.
