A record store where pop/rock dominates but there are also fado, jazz, Brasil or África.
It was in February 2017 that Rui Ferreira, with a 26 year carreer as a nurse, dived into a huge carreer change from nursing to owning a record store in downtown Coimbra. Thus was born the Lucky Lux, a 55 square meters shop. After two years, Lucky Lux has sold more than five thousand records, including new and used vinyl. Here pop/rock dominates but there are also sections dedicated to fado, jazz, Brazil or Africa. Disc values range from € 10 to € 15, with rarities and harder to find articles having premium prices. There you can find Amália Rodrigues and David Bowie among many other well-known names of the music world. In addition to Vinyl (the most sought after item), Lucky Lux also sells Cd’s and Dvd’s. It should be mentioned that nothing of this is new to Rui Ferreira, he was has always been connected to the music scene, having owned a publishing house for over 20 years, the Lux Records, having been a band manager and did some radio as well.
