Discovering and experiencing a city at Christmas time is more beautiful and Coimbra becomes even more charming. Coimbra Christmas’23 celebrates the season with a “magical” program with various activities taking place in various locations around the city.
Until the 25th December, the first edition of Coimbra Magic Land will make “Parque Verde do Mondego” the favorite place for children and adults this month. Why?The Ice Rink, the Parisian Carousel, the Christmas Train, the Inflatables, the Toy Factory, Santa’s House, the Christmas Market and the Food Truck “park” guarantee entertainment for the whole family during this month.
On the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of December (at 6:30pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm), “Praça 8 de Maio” will receive “A Parada do Quebra Nozes” (“The Nutcracker Parade”) by Vortice Dance Company, an unmissable show by Video Mapping and Dance.
“A Praça é Sua no Natal” (“The square is yours at Christmas”) promises several musical entertainment activities in the beautiful “Praça do Comércio”, on Thursdays and Fridays, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, until 22nd of December. And like last year, the Traditional Christmas Market will also occupy “Praça do Comércio”, until 23rd of December.
The Christmas spirit also fills the “D. Pedro V” Municipal Market, which awaits the exciting arrival of Santa Claus at the Market, which will take place on the 8th at 10:30 am. In the same weekend, the Christmas Hype Market also takes place at the Market, an urban market that includes crafts, painting, fashion, workshops and a space dedicated to children.
At Convento São Francisco, we highlight the theater show “Capuchinho”, for the little ones, on the 10th (at 4 pm) and 11th December (at 10:00am and 2:30pm) and the ballet “Quebra Nozes ”, on 21st December at 9:00 pm.
