“No Tacho”, number 20 at Rua da Moeda in downtown Coimbra, invites us to live a unique and unforgettable gastronomic experience where we are “masterfully presented with ancient recipes that bring back memories of bygone times and long-ago forgotten flavours”, inspired by the mountain and the ocean.
Products from the central region and in-season are favored and, therefore, the Menu may change throughout the year. However, we can highlight some options such as “Arroz Caldoso de Bacalhau” (saucy codfish rice), Octopus from Algarve, “Arroz de Fumeiro” (typical of Trás-os-Montes) and Marinhoa DOP Meat. Partridge Rice, Cabidela Rice and Game Meat are some of the seasonal proposals. All rice dishes are made with “carolino” ariete rice from the Mondego , a rice reference from the Lower Mondego region.
The boards of sausages and cheeses (from “Beira Baixa” and “Trás-os-Montes”) also are the stars of the Menu, with the spirit of a typically Portuguese house.
And of course, for desserts, we suggest the traditional “Arroz Doce” and “Leite Creme” and the conventual sweet “Morgado do Bussaco”, but be sure to try the “Pudim de Gemas” and Port Wine.
To accompany the meal, there are ample wine choice, but the Chef’s suggestion will certainly fall on Bairrada or Dão wines, of the central region once again.
At “Tacho” you take a journey through tradition, through the genuine aromas and flavors of the mountain and the sea, but with a contemporary touch. Reservations are recommended: 911 925 961.
