Devaneio Bistro & Wine Bar presents itself as a space that invites customers to the discovery and sharing of the best wines and products of our gastronomy. Located on “Rua Adro de Baixo“, a few steps from the São Bartolomeu Church, in downtown Coimbra, Devaneio arises from Filipe Neto’s passion for Coimbra, his hometown, and his experience in catering and hospitality.
Divided into two floors, with a semi-open kitchen. The menu is not very extensive but promises to be diverse: it surprises with new dishes each season, always taking into account the products of the season. At the moment we highlight: a starter, Peruvian-inspired but with a “Portuguese touch”, the Shrimp Ceviche with Ginger and Orange of the Algarve; for Vegan food lovers, we suggest the Leek confit in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Grilled in Robata and Toasted Dried Fruits (with the option to pair with “Queijo da Ilha” cheese); meat lovers won’t want to miss the Black Angus with Mushrooms, Bacon and Basil Butter; fish lovers won’t say no to Icelandic Cod Loin, Pea Purée infused with Wasabi and Pine Nuts. To feed the soul, finish with “O Bolo dos Três Conventos”, a unique creation that presents, in a three-layer cake, three Portuguese conventual sweets. The first layer, “Pão de Rala”, takes us back to the Convent of Évora; the second (the stuffing), the “Ovos Moles”, take us to the Convent of Aveiro; the third layer (the top) is the unmissable Manjar Branco from the Convento of Celas, in Coimbra. The wine stock includes numerous national references but also some international ones.
