What are the check-in and check-out times?

Our check-in time starts at 2PM (14:00) and our check-out time is until 12PM (midday).
In case of early check-in or late check-out, we will do our best to accommodate your request, depending on our availability for that day. Alternatively, we will be happy to store your luggage and car free of charge for as long as you need. Just go to the reception and speak to our lovely team. The reception of Hotel Oslo Coimbra is open 24 hours a day.

Is breakfast included in my reservation?

Yes, breakfast is included in your booking! Our breakfast takes place between 7:30am and 10:30am on the top floor of the hotel (5th floor). It is a buffet breakfast where you can try several local products and enjoy a magnificent postcard view of the UNESCO classified area of the city of Coimbra.

Where can we park our car?

We have free underground parking for all guests, no reservation needed.

We have a parking space in front of the Hotel Oslo Coimbra where you can unload your luggage and calmly check-in, then you may park your car in our facilities. You’ll be able to reach all points of interest in Coimbra with a pleasant stroll through the historic streets around us and the downtown.

Where can I charge my electric vehicle?

Hotel Oslo Coimbra has underground parking included for all clients. Reservations are not required. We are committed to promoting sustainable mobility and offering greater convenience to our guests. To this end, the parking lot offers free conventional 230V sockets and electric vehicle chargers. All you need to do is inform our staff at check-in and bring your type 2 cable.

Are pets allowed in the hotel?

At Hotel Oslo Coimbra, we love animals and know that pets are part of the family. The trip wouldn’t be the same without your special furry friend, so bring your pet to enjoy your vacation in Coimbra. We will reserve a special room where your pet will feel as comfortable as you do for an extra fee of only €20.00 per night. However, we are sorry to inform you that the Superior Rooms are not compatible with the dog/ pet, since our pet dedicated floor in wooden/ parquet is located on the 1st floor, where we only have Standard Rooms.

Please note that there is a limit of 1 pet up to 10kg per room and that pets are not allowed in public areas such as the Bar or Breakfast Room.

I'm traveling with children, is it possible to add extra beds and/or cribs? Is there an extra charge?

We are pleased to offer a free crib in the apartment for one child up to 3 years old (3 years 11 months and 29 days). We also have high chairs for children.
Any additional child or adult over the age of 3 will be charged 25,00 € per night per extra bed.

Will there be an extra charge for additional guests in my room?

Yes, an additional fee of 25.00 € per night will be charged for extra children or adults over 3 years old.

I lost a personal item at the hotel. How should I do?

If you have lost a personal item in our hotel, please contact our reception team, available 24 hours a day. You can call us at (+351) 239 829 071 or send an email to <info@hoteloslo-coimbra.pt>. Our team will be ready to assist in locating the item, and if found, we will arrange for its return.

How do I get to Hotel Oslo Coimbra by train?

You can easily reach Hotel Oslo Coimbra by train, as we are located on the main avenue in the city center.
All national trains stop at Coimbra B station. Due to the Metro Mondego works, the train connection between Coimbra B and Coimbra A stations is permanently closed. Until the new mobility system is in operation, a free bus service will run between Coimbra B and the city centre (journey time between 5-10 minutes). The bus stop at Coimbra B station is next to the taxi rank. At the old Coimbra A station, the bus stop is in Largo das Ameias, about 50 meters from our hotel. This service is free for CP passengers and connects them to all trains arriving or departing from Coimbra B.

Given the need to change transportation and the uncertainty of this transitional period, we recommend that you consider taking a taxi or Uber directly to the Hotel Oslo Coimbra, at an approximate cost of 5 euros.

How do I get to Hotel Oslo Coimbra by bus?

You can easily reach Hotel Oslo Coimbra by bus, as we are located on the main avenue in the city center.
The bus terminal where regional and national buses stop is about 1km from Hotel Oslo Coimbra, a distance that can be covered on foot in about 15 minutes.
When you arrive, you should exit through the door that leads to the main avenue (Avenida Fernão de Magalhães) turn to your right (opposite side to McDonalds) and go straight ahead to Hotel Oslo Coimbra. We give you some reference points: You will pass through a roundabout, go straight ahead and find another roundabout near a supermarket (Continente), continue straight ahead and find the Fire Brigade of Coimbra and walking more 5 minutes you will find the Hotel Oslo Coimbra. Keep going to the right.

Tip: If you are carrying bags, it may be easier and more comfortable to take a taxi from the terminal to the hotel. It shouldn’t cost more than 5,00 euros.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

For direct transfers between Hotel Oslo and the nearest airports, in Lisbon and Porto, we recommend the company Coimbra Shuttle, which has a regular and quality offer in shared transport.

Can I use the bar and terrace services without staying?

Hotel Oslo Coimbra is proud to feature a panoramic bar and rooftop overlooking the UNESCO zone of the city of Coimbra. The space can be frequented by guests and passers-by.
If you are passing by and want to enjoy our Bar, have a drink or a light meal, go to the reception to receive your Bar card, with a minimum consumption of 5€. The Bar is open from 4:00pm until 1:00am and you can check the menu here.

Given the limited capacity of the bar and terrace, access is also subject to availability. This may vary depending on the occupancy by clients who stay overnight in the hotel.

Do the rooms have a bathtub?

If you would like a room with a bathtub for your stay, please contact our reception desk when you make your reservation, so that we can accommodate your request in the best possible way. Since not all of our rooms offer bathtubs, it is necessary that this request be made as early as possible.

Does the hotel have laundry services?

We have laundry service for all our guests. You can deliver your clothes between 9am and 4pm, with a minimum of 36 hours between delivery and receiving the clothes again.
Just go to the reception and speak to our lovely team.

Does the hotel offer daily cleaning service?

Yes, Hotel Oslo Coimbra provides daily cleaning in all rooms, ensuring you always find a comfortable and clean space to rest during your stay in Coimbra.

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in every room and throughout the hotel.

Is smoking allowed in the room?

All rooms at the Hotel have a non-smoking policy. Guests who wish to smoke can do so while visiting our exterior area such as our roof terrace on the 6th floor, with the best view of the city of Coimbra and its UNESCO heritage area.

Can I request a wake-up call or a taxi at the reception?

Yes, you can request a wake-up call or a taxi at the reception. Our team is always available to assist with these requests, ensuring your stay is as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Can I request a different pillow if I don't adapt to the one in the room?

Yes, you can choose the pillow that best suits your needs from the menu available in the room and request it at the reception.

Do the hotel rooms have a minibar?

At Hotel Oslo Coimbra, our standard rooms are not equipped with a minibar. However, if you need to store something in a cool or refrigerated place, the hotel has a suitable facility for that purpose. Please contact the reception desk, and a member of our team will be happy to store your items.
If you would like a room with a minibar, you can choose one of our superior rooms, which are also equipped with a coffee machine, coffee capsules, tea bags, and a balcony with beautiful views over Coimbra’s historic area.

Are the rooms equipped with a kettle?

Our rooms are not equipped with a kettle. However, we will be happy to provide one free of charge upon request — just contact our 24-hour reception team.
For other needs, we also offer an excellent bar service with a wonderful view over Coimbra’s UNESCO-listed historic center.

Do the rooms have an iron?

At Hotel Oslo Coimbra, the rooms are not equipped with an iron. However, if you need one, our reception team will be pleased to provide you with an iron and ironing board at no additional cost.

Does the hotel provide toiletries in the rooms?

Yes, the hotel provides toiletries in the rooms, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and bath towels. If you need additional items, such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, shower cap, razor and shaving gel, nail file, cotton pads, shoe polishing kit, shoehorn, sewing kit, or electrical adapter, our team is available to assist with your request.

Is it possible to buy tickets for Coimbra's tourist attractions at the hotel?

How do I visit the Joanina Library and the University of Coimbra?

You are free to explore the exterior of the iconic University of Coimbra. However, to access its most remarkable interior spaces, such as the Joanina Library, the Royal Palace, and the Chapel of São Miguel, you will need to purchase a ticket. We highly recommend booking in advance, as the number of visitors per hour is limited. Tickets can be purchased through the official website of the University of Coimbra.

How do I get to the Conímbriga Museum?

The Conímbriga Museum is located in the village of Condeixa-a-Velha, about 16 km from Hotel Oslo Coimbra. The drive takes approximately 20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased on site or through the museum’s official website.

How can I visit the National Museum of Machado de Castro?

The museum is located in the heart of the uptown area of Coimbra, next to the Sé Velha. Tickets can be purchased on site or online. For guided tours, we recommend booking in advance.

Where can I buy tickets for Portugal dos Pequenitos?

Tickets can be purchased on site, or for added convenience, we recommend purchasing in advance through the official website. The park is located about a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Along the way, you can enjoy a pleasant stroll by the Rio Mondego.
